James E. Chamberlin, President

Mr. Chamberlin is a founding member of SHP and is responsible for all phases of SHP's growth, including new business, operations, acquisitions, marketing and construction. He has over 25 years experience in the development, acquisition and management of new businesses. Mr. Chamberlin was a founding member of Specialty Surgicenters, Inc. and served as its Executive Vice President and later President and COO during the 10 years of the company's existence. He led the management team that successfully concluded the sale of SSI's equity to United Surgical Partners International. He formerly served in positions ranging from President/Owner of a privately held corporation with offices in Dallas, Atlanta and Tampa to Vice President and Group Manager for JWP, a $3 billion dollar international corporation. Mr. Chamberlin served with the U.S. Navy Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron #13, serving two tours in Vietnam. Back to top.

Barbara P. Christopher, Vice President

Ms. Christopher oversees all aspects of the administration of the company, including corporate and contractual matters. She has over 20 years of experience as a contract manager and paralegal. She most recently served as Director of Contract Administration for Specialty Surgicenters, Inc. for six years. Prior to that, Ms. Christopher served as the Contracts Manager for Dornier Medical Systems. She received a B.A. in Psychology from Agnes Scott College and a Legal Assistant's Certificate from the ABA-approved National Center for Paralegal Training. She is an associate member of the ABA. Robert S. Cowles, III, M.D., Director

Dr. Cowles is the founder of the Cowles Clinic on Lake Oconee, a complete multi-specialty medical campus which offers an array of medical specialties as well as imaging, physical therapy, executive health, complete oncology, and a radiation therapy center. This complete medical campus is also home to the Atlanta Center for Urology which Dr. Cowles began in 1991. He is the past president of the Tennessee and Georgia Urological Associations and is a member of the American Urological Association and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Cowles received his BS in 1974 and his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1978 from the University of Tennessee. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and began his practice in Tennessee and Georgia in 1983. He has served as a clinical professor of urology at the University of Tennessee and Emory University. Back to top.

Rigsby Project Management, David G. Rigsby, President

Mr. Rigsby is the President of Rigsby Project Management, Inc. which provides all project management and construction oversight for Specialty Health Partners. He formerly served as Vice President of Construction for Specialty Surgicenters, Inc. and was instrumental in the development and construction of ambulatory surgery centers. With over 30 years of professional experience in site selection, site development, design and construction management for health care facilities, Mr. Rigsby's national/international project experience includes ambulatory surgery centers, medical office buildings, hospitals, radiation therapy centers, magnetic resonance imaging centers, cyclotron facilities, Alzheimer facilities, and multi-modality imaging centers. Mr. Rigsby received a B.S. in Building Construction from Auburn University. Back to top.
